Sutton Park
Sutton Park is a charming lived-in house, built of mellow brick in 1730 by Thomas Atkinson. The house contains beautiful eighteenth century furniture, paintings mostly from Buckingham House, now Buckingham Palace and an important collection of porcelain. Magnificent plaster work by Cortese.
The gardens, Silver Award winner 2010 in Yorkshire in Bloom attract visitors from both home and abroad and have been featured in many prestigious publications. Herbaceous and rose borders are full of rare and interesting plants laid out with great care over the past forty years. In the grounds Edwardian fernery, Georgian Icehouse, woodland walk and children's adventure playground. Sutton Park is available for private hire for both civil ceremonies and wedding receptions.
