There are three main reasons why I do what I do - it provides an outlet for personal creativity; I have a strong belief in the benefits of physical activity rather than electronic and I have a real desire to preserve and utilise the gifts nature has given us and which we often seem so intent on wasting.
All the wood I use is sourced from local tree surgeons - nothing is imported or commercially felled. I take only wood which has had to be felled for environmental or safety reasons, wood which would otherwise go to land fill sites or be used for firewood. In this way, an art form is created from what would otherwise be a waste material, thus preserving some of our native timber for future generations to enjoy. And in addition to that, even the waste material is re-cycled - given to a local nursery and used as a mulch.
