Bustling Leyburn is only 3 miles away, with York and Harrogate easily accessible for a day trip. An excellent pub, The Wyvill Arms , serves good food only a mile down a quiet country lane and there are many renowned restaurants nearby including The Blue Lion at East Witton, the Sandpiper in Leyburn and the Friars Head at Akebar. It is also well worth a look around the shops in the market towns of Richmond, Leyburn & Bedale and no stay at Sun Hill should pass without a trip to the Dales town of Hawes.
