Mickley B&B

Mickley B&BA big welcome, our doors are open to everyone. But if you like loud music, clubbing, parties and noisy pubs, then I'm afraid this B&B is not for you!

We are in a warm and welcoming log-burning house, in a small village on the bank of the River Ure. Mickley's freehold properties enjoy the ancient Manorial Privilege of 'Court Leet', which owns small areas of land and include fishing rights on certain stretches of the river.

Mickley is 5 miles North West of Ripon - and Ripon is, we believe, the oldest and the smallest city in England and as tradition has it, the Town Crier blows his horn at 21:00 every evening to signify the setting of the watch.

From Mickley, most of North Yorkshire's history and culture (lots of non history and culture too!), cities, towns, historic houses, stately homes, theatres, gardens, galleries, walking, cycling, fun and adventure, and the dramatic countryside of both the North York moors and the Yorkshire dales are all within easy distance. For the more adventurous, we even have Lightwater Valley Theme Park, with Europe’s longest roller coaster, 3 miles away; the Mickley entrance to the legendary Hackfall Wood is only 350 yards up the road, and you can have an exploratory day, canoeing or kayaking on the River Ure. There is something for everyone.

We welcome you in to our home; nothing is too much trouble and we will endeavour to make your stay here as easy and as comfortable as possible. Home from home - whether you are taking a few days’ action-packed holiday or whether you need somewhere quiet to base yourself for business or even just a couple of days self-indulging primetime.

With a day's notice, we can get you a newspaper of your choice for you to read with your breakfast.

Only well behaved children and dogs welcome!
