The Golden Fleece, Thirsk


The Golden Fleece, on Thirsk's cobbled market place is situated between the North Yorkshire Moors and The Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The hotel was once a famous coaching inn and is steeped in history, it's Georgian "coaching clock" still hangs in the entrance hall.

Our 24 en-suite rooms are individually designed to make guests feel completely at home, service is relaxed and friendly. Whether attending a conference, wedding or social event or simply getting away from it all we offer all our guests a warm Yorkshire welcome.

Thirsk is home to the award winning James Herriot centre and for racing enthusiasts there are courses in Thirsk, York, Ripon, and Catterick. The hotel is well placed for visiting the best that Yorkshire has to offer, from the ancient city of York, with its winding streets and Minster, to the North Yorkshire dales and moors and the historic coastal town of Whitby. Markets are held on the market square every Monday and Saturday.
